How to write answers in Section Officer exams?

Once you pass the preliminary exam called Administrative and Aptitude Test (AAT), the next challenge for you is to tackle the subjective papers. Second and Third Papers are designed evaluate your written skills indeed. If you are trying for Foreign Service, then you have to give two extra subjective papers on English Language and Foreign Policy & International Relations respectively. In case of Law Service, you have to appear in one extra subjective paper on Contemporary Law & Practices

If you go through the question patterns of PSC Section Officer exams, you can figure out basically three parts of the questions:
  1. Title
  2. Action Word (Action Verb)
  3. Focus
Lets consider this question, for example:
Q. Mention the scope of National Security Management. Briefly comment on the prevailing provisions of the national security of Nepal.

In this question, you can figure out above mentioned three parts:
Title: Scope of National Security Management
Action Word: Mention / Briefly Comment
Focus: Prevailing provisions of the national security of Nepal

Now, you can deal with the question accordingly.

Candidates normally seem to have ignored the importance of Action Words in the subjective papers. But it's highly important to understand action words if you want to deal with the question in a right way. Go through my next post about Action Words for more information.
